THE SCHOOL MOTTO AND EMBLEM
The name EDMUND RICE originates from Blessed Edmund Rice, the Founder of the Christian Brothers who administer the school.
SINON is the village where the school began in 1988 and where it is located.
The UHURU TORCH exemplifies our teachers who enlighten the way and the OPEN BOOK points to a familiar source of knowledge.
The MOUNTAIN emphasizes to the students to work hard to reach their goals.
The MAIZE PLANTS remind us that education is as important as food.
Our SCHOOL MOTTO, "Hope Through Education", encourages us to study and work in the hope for a better future for the individual, the community and the nation.
Each year there is an additional theme that is used as the theme for that particular year - it is introduced after consultation among the students and is referred to often at assemblies and class gatherings. For example, in 2008, the theme for the year has been
"BE THE BEST THAT WE CAN BE"
